Who is Tchidi Chikere? The Famous Nollywood Scriptwriter

Tchidi Chikere is a multiple award winning Nollywood director, producer, actor, script writer and a musician. He was born on 10th October 1975 in Mbaise, Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 44 years old. He grew up in Lagos and completed both his primary and secondary school education in Lagos in the south western part of Nigeria. After his secondary education, Tchidi Chikere proceeded to University of Calabar, Cross River in the south southern part of Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. He started writing film scripts when he was still in school. While in school he belongs to a musical group and dramatic club. After completing his National Youth Service (NYSC) he travelled to the United Kingdom to publish his first book. In 2007 he launched his first studio album. After which he launched his second studio album in the United Kingdom. After graduating from University of Calabar, Tchidi Chikere joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) as a script writer, movie director and actor. Tchidi Chikere is also a musician. He has collaborated with Marvellous Benji, OJB Jezreel and Pat Attah. Tchidi Chikere is a creative filmmaker and one of the leading movie directors and producers in Nigeria with over 60 movies to his credit. One of the greatest movies Tchidi Chikere wrote and directed in Nollywood is “Stronger Than Pain” an emotional tragic movie which featured celebrities like Kate Henshaw and Emeka Ike. The movie won him the award for best creative director in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards. Tchidi Chikere has won many award in Nollywood which include best director in Nigeria, most creative director in Nigeria and best producer in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards and Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards. He was married to Sophia Chikere who is also a Nollywood actress. The couples were blessed with three children. Unfortunately, Tchidi Chikere and his Wife Sophia Chikere got divorced in 2012 due to misunderstanding. Tchidi Chikere is currently married to Nollywood actress Nuella Njubigbo.
